IRRESPONSIBLE YOUNG SINGLE MUMS – By Luke C Divines

For ages mothers have been the strength of society,. They gave hope where there was none. They struggled to feed, clothe and educate kids. They cared when no one did.

When their hubbies died, or left for greener pastures, or worked in Nairobi and hardly returned home or sent nothing, hardly there for the kids, Mama was there for them. She did odd jobs to make ends meet. She carried the little one on her back, and by jioni she was there for the family.

Single mums in the days of yore lived more for their kids and less for themselves. Today it is the other way around as many of them see kids as a stumbling block to their fleshly pursuits.

The single mums of our generation made sure kids went to school amid odds. Some academic giants and top professionals in our society today are products of caring parentage by sinlge mothers, separated or otherwise.

Ben Curson the adored neurosurgeon who has inspired many to pursue that medical scientific field was raised by a single mum who married at 16 and separated shortly after he was born.

Babu Owino, Embakasi East MP, was raised by a single mum who brew chang’aa and through struggles and being there for young Babu, raised up a kid who can become Kenya’s next president when he grows up, weans himself from sycopphancy and stops worshipping a political Demigod.

The late Ken Okoth who left an unfillable gap in Kibra Constituency by building schools and initiating development projects hitherto unseen in Kibra, was raised by a young mum who refused to leave her kids behind, worked for City Council and raised her kids

My heart bleeds as I hear stories of young single mums who shut up their kids in their houses at night and go out to revel with men as they enjoy sex. My friend tells me of his neighbor who shuts her young kid in the house at 5pm, goes to town to hawk her flesh and returns in the morning. The kid has reached school going age, but who will take him to school?

And many such women sre out there doing this. I’m sure you have heard of or watched in TV, rooms that caught fire in the dead of the night, burned the kids to ashes apart from causing extreme damage to the neighbors. The mums were out in the lodges somewhere exchanging kisses as 2 – 5yr olds were left alone, locked in the rooms.

A little mistake with kerosene lamps in the room, or a malicious person, burned the little angels to death. But the sad trend continues as the women have learned nothing. Murderers.

Let’s Close With The Story Of Sonia

Mum and Dad due to Mums insatiable love for the male rod. She went with Sonia and kept life high. She would shut her in their room through the night, at times during the day, as she sold her heart to the Devil and flesh to men for cash. The little girl went thru psychological torture. No food, na kichapo cha mbwa. Mistreatment

An angel of an aunt took her. Today she is in class three but is very traumatised. Most times she gets carried away in deep thought, lost in the world of wonderment, even in class, hand on chin, absent minded, totally lost in her world. When she is not mentally disturbed she is in position 5 or above. The days she gets lost in traumatic flashbacks, she slides to position 20 or below. Unfortunately, Sonias are too many today. What will Sonia’s generation be like?

Isaiah was in the Spirit when he penned Isaiah 49:15. But today’s young mother has really changed. Her heart is in men and herself, no longer in her kid. Many such cases exist and are ever rising. I cannot imagine what these young kids will grow up into.

Some young single mums are doing a job commendable job. They are the pride of society. But the growing number of beastly-hearted young single mums is heartbreaking and worrying. A trend that should be looke into and stopped.

Men who sire kids they cannot raise or take care of are worse. They cannot be justified. But the woman was created with an ability to go the extra mile. And with young mothers turning into beasts, out society of tomorrow is doomed as early as today and now.

Prostitution is not a new practice or phenomenon. Some of our mothers, aunts, sisters, were renowned prostitutes. But they prostituted responsibly. At least they had hearts for their kids. Regardless of what lifestyle we choose, we have absolutely no right to use it to tramunatise innocent kids or other adults.
